INTERIOR CONCEPT

‘a girl’s belongings fall out of a moving truck on her way to someplace new'

As the dust settles from a moving truck that had just zoomed by, a young girl’s dolls slowly come into view. They’ve fallen onto the pavement.
Seeing their eyes, cheeks, and lips so carefully and lovingly colored makes you think of the little girl who perhaps dreamed of doing the same for herself one day.
She now faces her moment, to discover her beauty within and take a step forward into a new world.

We wanted to create an experience of discovering a flea market, with a sense of mystery that lingers in the air.
The products aren’t set in perfect array, but rather displayed naturally in personal spaces such as a messy desk or bookshelf.
The dimmed lights focus the customer’s attention to the textures and aromas of the products, rather than being visually stimulated.
A typical check out desk is replaced by an island-style counter inspired by a European pawn shop.
The too cool patron trades money for makeup in this,
albeit backwards, pawn shop system, suggesting that perhaps this is a place that she will return to someday.
